While not exactly broke, I’m also not flush, and I will be scrounging as much as I can, without alienating my friends or compromising the safety or integrity of the airplane.  For instance, I’ve spent quite a lot on tools, because I wanted reasonably good ones. But I’ve worked hard to find alternatives to the ‘usual’ sources of raw materials.  And I plan to manufacture as much of the hardware and fibreglass as possible myself.
